Hematology and Coagulation Department, Diagnostic Laboratory

The hematology and coagulation department of the diagnostic laboratory is a crucial part of the lab where all tests related to anemia investigation and identification are conducted.

The CBC test is one of the most common tests performed, and approximately 90% of patients undergo this test. In this test, all blood cells are comprehensively examined and counted.

In addition to CBC, other tests such as Hb-electrophoresis are also performed to investigate different types of anemia.

The coagulation process plays a significant role in controlling bleeding. A deficiency in this process can lead to fatal diseases like hemophilia.

On the other hand, inappropriate blood coagulation can contribute to heart attacks, cerebral ischemia, and embolism in individuals with underlying diseases.

Some of the coagulation tests include PT, PTT, and fibrinogen.
