Biochemistry department of the diagnostic laboratory

The biochemistry department is one of the best-equipped sections of the laboratory which performs tests such as:

  • blood lipids
  • liver enzymes
  • proteins, and more

are performed there.

Blood Biochemistry

There is always a fixed amount of elements in the blood that can only be determined by a blood test.

These factors include glucose or blood sugar (before and after breakfast), urea, uric acid, lipid substances such as triglycerides, minerals such as sodium, potassium, calcium, iron, phosphorus, and enzymes such as SGPT, AIKf, and so on.

Urine biochemistry

Urine contains minerals such as chlorides, sulfates, and phosphates, as well as organic substances like urea and creatinine. However, the majority of urine is composed of water. This is a crucial part of diagnosis. By analyzing a urine sample, we can detect kidney diseases, hemolytic disorders, urinary tract disorders, and infections.
